Hi all. Having received a very large service bill for my Ducati 748 I test rode an Aprilia RSV1000R last Saturday. I was looking for the same rideability, fun, handling, wow factor that the Ducati has, but with more reliability and lower servicing costs. Well, what a bike. I nearly left my car at the dealers and went home on the bike, it has everything including better quality components at a more reasonable price. Went back to the dealer and put my deposit down!!
Started looking for a Ducati similar site where owners help each other in a friendly manner and hopefully I've found it! Some of the sites didn't seem to have anything on them, including users, others were based in the states.
One of the things that I like about these sites is the useful information and links that you can pick up so here's a couple. On e-bay currently you can purchase a CD of owners manual, techinical manuals etc for the RSV for only £3.38!! For that price it had to be worth a look. The link is: - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320179526652&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123
One of the useful things I found on here was the link to the torque settings. Unfortunately the download link wasn't working so I put it into an Excel spreadsheet myself. When I find out how to attach a file on this site I'll post it up for the rest of you.
Looking forward to perhaps meeting some of you assuming that there are rideouts occasionally?
What a bike!!

Hi Dave,
welcome to the site, lots of usefull links, and friendly advise. Things a little quiet now with the onset of winter and salt on the road. Where do hail from, and what year bike are you buying?
Cheers
Jerry (near Bristol)

Spoonz, let me know how to get the file to you and I'll pass it on. old thumper, I'm in Northants. I bought an '07 RSV1000R in the Bol D'or colour scheme. Didn't like it at all when I saw a picture. Not quite so bad when I saw it in the flesh. Took the bike out for a test ride and totally fell in love with it and I've liked the colour scheme ever since! I'm in Northants. ------------------------ What a bike!! |

Dave you can email it to Colin dot Vincent at homecall.co.uk
The site email does not work. I think because ISP's now don't allow other peoples email addresses to relay through their domain.
there is some HTML code which will probably sort it but i don't have access to the core of the site so can't amend it.
PAB emailed the site originator who has taken technical responsability in the past but i have heard nothing. As it still doesn't work it either couldn't be fixed or they have not tried as yet.

I've got the Bol d'Or too.
I remember seeing it when it first came out, not realising it was a replica, and wondering which blind Italian had been given the job of coming up with a wacky colour scheme. It was horrible.
Then I saw one on the road (the only one I've ever seen apart from my own) and fell in love with it.
It's a great colour scheme if you don't mind standing out in a crowd.

quote:Spreadsheet on the way to you Spoonz. Thanks for the other greetings people [:D] Nice to see a bit of activity on this site. I've just changed from a Ductati and the Ducatisti web site is very active which is nice, especially this time of the year when there are fewer days that we can get out on the bikes. Went out for a bit of a blat today (new bike and I just HAVE to ride it) although the roads were a litte damp in places. God this bikes gorgeous to ride. I think about going around a corner and it's done it! Hopefully next year when the weather picks up again and summer returns (pleeeeease) we can organise some ride outs. It's nice to put faces to people on the web sites and spend a day in the sun admiring other peoples bikes. ------------------------ What a bike!! |

Well, as I am picking up my new RSVR1000 in Bol D'Or colours tomorrow I thought it was about time I registered on the forum rather than being another one of those 'guests' looking in from the outside.
I've been umming and arring about moving over to twins for a few years now and after riding the RSV I really got the bug. All I need now is descent weather to get out on it!
